London

We finally made it to London. We expected London to be the climax of our trip and we were not disappointed. England is officially part of Europe, but don't tell the British that. In recent elections the anti-EU party UKIP came in ahead of the ruling Labour Party. Everything you have ever thought or heard about England is true, and then some. It's important to note that nearly everything that British people do is motivated by a desire to confuse foreigners. London is steeped in tradition, in a way that it is impossible to duplicate without thousands of years of history. We saw the Ceremony of the Keys, which is a 700 year-old ceremonial locking up of the crown jewels, went to the Globe Theatre, built to 16th century specifications, to see Romeo and Juliet, saw the changing of the guard at 2 royal residences, and stayed down the street from the famous Abbey Road Studios. It is impossible in a city like London to be physically more than a few yards away from a place where some important bit of history happened. The amount of people that have lived and died in London make it a very special place.

That's awesome. I have spend a whopping 6 hours total in England... but it was in Heathrow to and from Paris. The flight over London was beautiful though! I felt like Peter Pan!
